Adaptive antenna system (AAS)
AAS is a type of beam-forming technique where an array of antennas is used at a base station (BS) to increase gain to the intended subscribed station (SS) while avoiding the interference to and from other SSs. AAS techniques are a type of spatial division multiple access (SDMA), which enables multiple SSs operate on the same subchannel while they are not interfering with each other such that the overall system capacity can be further increased.
